Coulter Sims joined SSC in January 2018 after an adventurous start—two years living in South America followed by co-owning a food truck. A connection at his church introduced him to SSC, and he began as a Manager in Training on the Startup, Training, and Transition (STAT) Team.

The STAT Team became his launching pad. For two years, Coulter traveled across the country, supporting new accounts, assisting managers, and tackling the wide variety of challenges that come with operations in different locations. This experience sharpened his adaptability, deepened his understanding of educational facility environments, and built a foundation in leadership that would carry him forward.

Coulter’s next career step took him to Marana, Arizona, where he spent three and a half years as a director, leading facilities operations for an entire school district. There, he got experience building lasting client relationships and found his passion for mentoring teams.

In 2024, Coulter was promoted to his current role, Regional Director of Operations, where he oversees multiple accounts with a focus on leadership development, operational excellence, and client satisfaction.

Coulter describes himself as a servant leader, committed to supporting his team, clients, and community. He believes leadership is about investing in others, building trust, and leading with humility. His advice to those growing their careers: be open to relocation, build strong soft skills like communication and relationship management, and always approach leadership with genuine care for people.

Looking back, Coulter credits mentors for shaping his leadership style and emphasizes the importance of hard work and staying humble. Looking ahead, he’s excited about SSC’s growth and the opportunity to bring in new leaders – even from outside traditional facilities management backgrounds.

His journey reflects not only his own values but also the culture SSC fosters – where service, growth, and opportunity are at the heart of success.
