SSC Services for Education Gives Back to Knoxville Students & Teachers

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., January 23, 2023 – SSC Services for Education (SSC), a leading national K-12 and higher education facilities and grounds management provider, has been headquartered in Knoxville since its founding in 1969. With operations expanding yearly, the company honors its Knoxville roots by supporting students and educators locally through donations and scholarships.

In August of 2021, SSC launched a Clear the List initiative. Through this program, SSC supported local teachers who directly impacted the children of our corporate office employees by clearing their Amazon wish lists and providing the necessary supplies and resources the teachers needed to prepare their classrooms for the upcoming academic year. In 2022, the program was expanded to include more local educators and additional educators at SSC partner schools throughout the US. In total, SSC donated over $8,300 in school supplies and resources directly to teachers to help start the year on a great note.

During the 2022-2023 school year, SSC also stepped in to fill an additional need in the Knoxville community. When South-Doyle High School could not find a sponsor for their personal finance program before the start of the school year, SSC sponsored the program through Ramsey Education. This sponsorship allows students to continue receiving essential education on financial literacy through an easy-to-use, turn-key Ramsey Solutions’ Foundations in Personal Finance curriculum that teaches students the value of living on less, avoiding debt, and investing for their future. “At each site across the nation, we look for the impact we can create in our communities. Our corporate office is no different.
