Our grounds program can include athletic field management from certified specialists. We even have certified arborists on staff who can design landscape plans based on your climate zone.

Yes! We have switched to sustainable products like bamboo, used goats to maintain fire barriers, and helped our campuses retrofit their facilities to reduce water waste and maximize energy efficiency. Most recently, we made a commitment to transition from gas-powered mowers to electric mowers at all sites. In total, these changes will reduce our carbon footprint by more than 53 million pounds over the next five years. That’s the equivalent of building 51 wind turbines or planting 4 million trees and letting them grow for 10 years!
Every site is different, but the benefits are consistent across the board. There are abundant cost savings – the fixed annual expense makes it easier to budget, SSC takes on the custodial staff workers compensation, and there is reduction of administrative and HR time and expense. We have several unique technological advantages. For example, we have a drone we use for roof inspections, complete with thermal capability to find hot or cold spots. We use robotic mowers that run early in the morning so intramural fields are freshly mowed for students to use. We measure water levels of soil so we know how to properly irrigate to avoid over- or under-watering.
